A District of the Allied Masonic Degrees is structured very similarly to that of a Craft province. It is ruled by a District Grand Prefect, the equivalent of a Provincial Grand Master, who is assisted by a Deputy District Grand Prefect and supported by the regular officers. The officers of the District are appointed and invested at the Annual District Meeting which is held on the last Saturday of January in Burton uopn Trent.
The District of the West Midlands includes the Craft provinces of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, and Worcestershire.
One of the main precepts of the Order is Hospitality and intervisiting between councils is encouraged for all brethren. The large size of the District means visitors are heartily welcomed at council meetings.
